How many leads does your revenue goal take?

A yearly number is hard to act on. Break it into the jobs, estimates, and leads you need to hit every month.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. Your numbers.

  1. 01

    Enter your numbers

Enter the new revenue you want per year and your average project value.

  2. 02

    Watch it recalculate

Add your close rate and the share of leads that become booked estimates.

  3. 03

    Use the answer

Use the monthly lead number as the target your marketing has to hit.

How the math works

Signed jobs

Revenue goal ÷ average project value, then ÷ 12 for the month.

Booked estimates

Signed jobs ÷ close rate. Close one in three and you need three estimates per job.

Leads

Booked estimates ÷ the share of leads that book. This is the top of the funnel your marketing has to fill.

Example numbers, not a benchmark

$900,000 at $25,000 a job: 36 jobs a year, 3 a month. At a 30% close rate, 10 booked estimates a month. If 40% of leads book, 25 leads a month.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Questions we hear.

How is this different from the ad budget calculator?

That one starts from jobs per month and adds your cost per lead to get spend. This one starts from yearly revenue and stops at volume. Run this first, then carry the jobs number over.

Should referral revenue be in the goal?

Only put in what you need new leads to bring. If referrals cover part of the year, leave that out, or the lead target comes out higher than it needs to be.

My business is seasonal. Does a monthly average work?

It splits the year evenly. Use it for the total, then plan heavier months in season and lighter ones out of it.

The lead number looks impossible. Now what?

Nudge the booking and close rates up a few points and watch it shrink. Faster replies, better qualifying, and steady follow-up often cut the lead target more than another channel would.
